Chaos Crisis

Leader Articles

On each team, there is a leader character that everyone should know something about before applying. Here we go:

Crisis Senshi and Sailor Muse: Sailor Muse is the leader of the Crisis Senshi. She is also the Crisis Senshi equivalent of Sailor Moon; she usually delivers the final blow to opponents, and she's generally associated with hope, goodness, etc. Unlike Sailor Moon, she is NOT a princess, but she plays a similar role with the Crisis Senshi; the Crisis Senshi will try to protect her no matter what, because she is the strongest of the five of them. Also, note how I keep saying "she"; Sailor Muse must be a female, end of discussion.

Negaverse Senshi and Sailor Moon: She is the one named…yeah, you know.

First things first, Moon applicants! Unlike many of the incarnations of canon Sailor Moon, the Moon Princess of our game is just that - a Princess, and therefore not a leader and not really even meant to be a warrior, though because the Negaverse needed the assistance of the Silver Crystal when the Dark Kingdom reemerged, the Powers That Is had few options remaining besides turning the precious Princess Serenity into a one-girl fighting force. HOWEVER, she is still a Princess; unlike in the anime and even the manga, she is precious and is meant to be protected before being allowed into battle. Sailor Venus is the leader of the Negaverse Senshi, hands down. Sailor Moon, as the wielder of the Silver Crystal, is the most important figure in the Negaverse (yes, she has a lot of one-hit-KO-ish attacks, but these are saved for after her Senshi do the dirty/dangerous work), but is certainly not meant to have any authority beyond monarchical stuff like ruling Crystal Tokyo. She, like all Princesses, was meant to be looked at, not meant to be hurtled into the front lines like some kind of rag doll.

Speaking of the Silver Crystal, this is your weapon, Moon applicants! Want to make a sparkly shoujo-riffic rod/scepter/tier/giant-beating-stick out of it ala the myriad rods that canon Moon used? Awesome, go for it! Too lazy to do that? It's cool! As long as Sailor Moon at least has the Silver Crystal on her person and you somehow describe it in a separate "Weapon" section, I don't care what you do with it. It is also, incidentally, her henshin tool - no stick for Ms. Moon.

As for similarities/differences with canon, just think about this for a minute; unlike all the other Negaverse Senshi, Naoko Takeuchi did in fact meet Moon (albeit in her Princess form). This means that, to an extent, Naoko was accurate with appearance. However, like all else, I'm sure she would have embellished needlessly, so you still have some flexibility. Still, unlike the other Negaverse kids, you actually need to make your senshi moderately visually similar to her canon counterpart (though, as usual, NO CLONES).

Personality gets a bit trickier; Naoko did meet the Princess, but she only spoke to Moon in Princess form. This means that she probably only discerned parts of Moon's personality from how she spoke about her duty. Maybe she had a somewhat different personality in Princess form than civilian form? It is up to you, though as with the other Negaverse Senshi, I should be able to read her personality and go, "Oh, yeah, Naoko kind of hit it sort of maybe on a good day, ish…but not really."

All fuku rules for Negaverse Senshi also apply to Moon. No Super-Crazy-Ribbons-of-Love/5 layered Eternal skirts, plzkthx. Also, make sure you include a Guardian section for Luna. Don't worry about covering her history in past or future incarnations, aka you don't need to bother with Silver Millenium/Crystal Tokyo stuff. Use the other Negaversers as a sample for what to include in history if you're unsure.

Another important thing; some of you at this point may be going "Um Moon is DEAD…will I be playing a dead person?" The short answer to this is yes. Here's the long answer. So, we know that Moon's been killed, yes? In case you haven't figured it out (from, oh, say, his PROFILE WHICH AS AN APPLICANT YOU SHOULD READ), Iblis killed her. We can also surmise that Iblis probably stole her soul, considering, you know, that that's what our bad guys DO. This is where things get complicated.

All people have three components to their existence; their body, which is the physical representation of their being, their mind, which is the consciousness that allows them to think rationally and with reason and logic, and their soul, which inspires emotion and hope in them and is also a marking of the amount of darkness/light in a person. Normally, when a person dies (which in almost all cases occurs when their body wears out or is damaged somehow), their mind and soul leave their body and travel to the Galaxy Cauldron. Somewhere along the line, the mind extinguishes, unable to survive without both the body and the soul. As the only component able to survive without the other two, the soul continues to the Galaxy Cauldron and is eventually reborn in a new body etc. happy happy fun fun good time.

However, when a person (e.g. Sailor Moon or any of the recent victims of the current baddies) loses his or her soul in an unnatural way, the body dies immediately. The mind, which is the component that is in an awkward space between physical and ethereal, then travels toward the Galaxy Cauldron as if the soul is still attached to it, using the (now-faulty) logic that it will be reborn because mind's are not smart enough to distinguish themselves from souls. However, the mind is unable to ever reach the Galaxy Cauldron because it is on a plane of existence only accessible to the soul. This leads to the mind wandering aimlessly in a space I have dubbed (for lack of a better, more sparkly term) Semi-Existence.

This space is usually merely a transition point - a highway, if you will, in which souls travel to reach the Cauldron and minds eventually disappear. In other words, it was small. Now, however, with so many souls being detached forcibly from bodies and minds having nowhere left to go, this space has become unnaturally large. This Semi-Existence is where Moon's consciousness is now.

If you are accepted, your Moon will be writing stories from this perspective. In essence, Moon is currently the equivalent of a ghost; a thing that is dead yet unable to pass into the realm of the dead. However, unlike a typical ghost, she cannot be seen by humans ever, and because her soul is no longer with her, her emotions are not as profound as usual. Since the mind interacts so closely with the soul, her emotions are still there, but they are echoes of what she once had. She will be guided by someone through this realm, only able to watch her Negaverse Senshi when they think of her or say her name (Senshi name or civilian name). This is the perspective you will need to write your Writing Sample from (if you are a non-member), and the perspective that you will be playing in for your first few stories.

Any other questions? Feel free to ask! I probably left a lot out, anyway.

Negaverse Senshi and Sailor Venus: Sailor Venus is the leader of the Negaverse Senshi. She has Artemis listed as her guardian, but Luna is with her as well; the latter cat found Sailor Venus shortly after Sailor Moon died. When applying for Venus, please include a guardian section for Artemis, and keep in mind that she must be a great leader and a powerful senshi; she is, after all, the leader of the second strongest team of senshi in existence.

Dark Kingdom and Iblis: Although I'll be playing Iblis, everyone should know a few things about him before applying for a Shitennou. Iblis was Queen Beryl's bodyguard, although Naoko Takeuchi never mentioned him in her story. As such, he was the closest person to Beryl, and he had a deep love for her. He was the one who killed Sailor Moon to avenge Queen Beryl's death, and he is insanely jealous of Endymion for winning Queen Beryl's love. As such, Iblis wants to kill Endymion in the Negaverse before doing much else. He is also incredibly powerful, as he is the leader of the new Shitennou.

Black Moon Clan and Mara: Mara was Prince Demando's and Prince Sapphire's sister. She loved her brothers very much and is grateful to Sailor Moon for trying to help them. As a result, she will not tolerate the spilling of any Sailor Senshi's blood unless there is absolutely no other way to defeat Chaos. Mara genuinely wants to defeat Chaos not only for vengeance, but for the good of existence; she believes it to be a menace to everything. You can be as creative with Mara as you like, but keep in mind that she is an idealist.

Death Busters and Lucifer: Lucifer loved Mistress 9 deeply, and will probably hesitate to kill Sailor Saturn because she looks a lot like Mistress 9. When his lover died, he went kind of crazy, although Lucifer is still mostly self-controlled. He wants to manipulate Chaos to achieve the dream he and Mistress 9 shared of silencing existence, and will stop at nothing to get it. He is very much an evil genius, and if you apply for Lucifer, remember; he's the one who came up with the idea of a spa for the Death Busters.
