Dark Kingdom

Being part of the Dark Kingdom does have its appeals. These characters are the most closely related villains to canon Sailor Moon, they have (IMO) some kick-ass spheres, and they're all-around awesome. :D

Still, there are some points to be made about these characters. With the exception of Iblis, who was Beryl's bodyguard, each of the new Shitennou apprenticed under a former Shitennou (see the character page). This means that they are each slightly similar in personality to their respective Shitennou, as they were raised with their masters. Note that I said "similar," NOT the same. While they each have personality traits that could be linked to their Shitennou, these guys are NOT replicas of their masters. Please don't make a Talc that's exactly the same as Zoisite; there should be notable differences between the two.

Also, while these guys each have different negative emotions or traits associated with them, this does not mean that they should completely and solely embody those traits; this would make them flat. Your Niter doesn't have to be a raving lunatic, and your Bromyrite doesn't need to be an angsty emo goth. They can be, but they should have other traits that also define them.

The new Dark Kingdom is actually among the more despicable villains. While they mainly want revenge on Chaos for its manipulation of their former queen, and they may claim not to want to kill the Negaverse Senshi, they will probably secretly try to kill the senshi that killed their masters (remember, these are the senshi that killed their masters IN THE MANGA). Why, they've already murdered Sailor Moon! They try not to get too distracted with killing the Sailor Senshi, but they probably will go out of their way at some point if the opportunity presents itself to kill a senshi. Keep this in mind when writing your new Shitennou and I will love you forever! ^_^

Note: Dark Kingdom characters must be male.

Black Moon Clan

The Black Moon Clan's court consists of the "nice guy" villains in the RPG. These guys are just trying to get back at Chaos for ruining their kingdom, killing their princes, and corrupting people like Rubeus and the Ayakashi sisters. Truth be told, no one can really blame them for wanting revenge on the entity that nearly destroyed their way of life.

You'll notice that each of the Black Moon Clan has a "positive" trait that is typically associated with good guys; honor and balance are among them. The Black Moon Clan, unlike the Death Busters and the Dark Kingdom, are not violent or criminal by nature; they are actually fairly kind people in general, like the Ayakashi sisters, and heroes will probably hesitate when fighting them because they know they'd do the same in the Black Moon's shoes. This doesn't mean your character has to be sweet and kind, but they also shouldn't be inherently evil. They want to kill Chaos while taking as few lives as possible, and they don't want to fight the Sailor Senshi unless no other options present themselves.

Note: Black Moon Clan members can be male or female.

Death Busters

This team is probably the most evil of the bunch. Unlike the other two factions, the Death Busters don't just want revenge; they actually wanted what Chaos almost gave them – that is, the silencing of the world. While the Dark Kingdom and the Black Moon Clan didn't really want the world to be destroyed, the Death Busters did and still do. They want revenge against Chaos, yes, but unlike the other teams, they want this revenge by manipulating Chaos in the way it manipulated them; they realize that with Chaos' power they can accomplish their goal of existence's destruction.

Keep some other things in mind, though, especially if you want a more sympathetic character; this whole "LET'S DESTROY EVERYTHING" attitude is mostly the result of the Witches' upbringing, as they are part of the new generation that was ruled by Pharoah 90's militarism and were ingrained with the idea of "silence = death" instead of the previous "silence = peace." However, this does not mean that a Witch will definitely agree with Pharoah 90's ideals, but she will most likely at least accept them and go along with them for power or something else. The newer generation follows Lucifer's rule, and in general they believe what they are doing is right. Think of it almost in a "White Man's Burden" way. The Witches will probably experience some sort of culture shock as the result of being exposed to our world, which has a very different culture from Planet Tau (check Setting for more info). Maybe they love our culture? Maybe they hate it? It's up to the applicants. The Witches might seem like completely flat, evil characters, but like the Shitennou, they can be developed sympathetically if you like; remember, they were RAISED in the thought that "killing = good," so maybe they just don't know any better? Maybe they're total rebels that think that's silly (though that would probably make them more lazy than pacifist)? Maybe they're traditionalists and therefore pacifists (i.e. the tradition before Pharoah 90 took over)? See what I mean? Creativity can allow for VERY complex Witches.

You'll also notice that each of the Death Busters (minus Lucifer) parallels an Outer Senshi's powers. This is ALL they parallel; they don't necessarily need to (but they can) share any character traits with the Outer Senshi.

As for treatment of the Sailor Senshi, the Death Busters will not go out of their way to kill or to not kill the senshi. They will, however, kill any Senshi that gets in their way. The Death Busters are probably the most efficient of the teams; they are very much driven toward their goal of ultimate silence, and will stop at nothing to get that ultimate goal.

The Death Busters' current plan of deceiving humans is as follows; they plan on using a relaxation spa to lure people in and attack them when their guard is down. Keep this in mind when making your characters! Lucifer is the head of the spa - maybe your witch is a masseuse? An acupuncturist? A jacuzzi worker? Again, creativity is awesome! Also remember that in canon Sailor Moon, the witches had a rivalry between one another for the favor of Professor Tomoe. The same is true for these witches; they will be competing with one another for Lucifer's favor. This is the Death Busters' one true weakness - otherwise, they're very much efficient and powerful.

Note: Death Busters must be female.

Villains and Objectives

The villains in this RPG each have one common objective that should be obvious by now; they all want to gain revenge on Chaos, be it through manipulation (Death Busters) or destruction (Black Moon and Shitennou). They also all have a similar weapon to use against Chaos, although they each plan on obtaining that weapon differently.

Chaos exists in the souls of all men, along with the pure goodness that is able to resist its influence. While Chaos used to be an entity that influenced men and lived as different incarnations (Metallia, Wiseman, Pharoah 90, etc.), Sailor Moon's final battle against Chaos in the Galaxia arc caused Chaos to be dispersed into the souls of all men, where it belonged. Thus, considering that Chaos now only exists in mens' souls, one would have to extract Chaos from these souls and collect enough of the "pure goodness" in the souls to defeat Chaos, yes? You may be thinking, "doesn't the good and evil balance out?" You'd be right, but there is a factor in this equation that Naoko Takeuchi never took into heart when she wrote her manga.

An entity called Consumption exists somewhere in the space between dimensions. Little is known about this entity, but the villains have discovered that when it is fed the souls of men, it is able to separate Chaos and goodness from the souls, and weaken Chaos. Once enough of Chaos is obtained by Consumption, the rest of it will naturally be extracted from the souls that have not been obtained (though the goodness will not be extracted). The villains hope that they will then be able to use these pure souls to defeat Chaos in its weakened state. While each villain faction has different methodologies, this is their common goal (though they have yet to encounter each other). Keep in mind that all the sailor senshi do not know that Consumption exists, but they do know that the villains are back and are posing a threat.

Some of the villains feel that the best way to go about this process is to find only the purest of souls (good and evil) so that they can get the most of Chaos while getting as much purity as possible. The Black Moon Clan is in line with this objective because it means they do not have to kill as many people. The Shitennou try to pawn off their desire to kill sailor senshi as being in line with this goal, because presumably the senshi have some of the purest souls in existence. Other villains (namely the Death Busters) want to simply acquire as many souls as possible to expedite the lengthy process of trying to find the most pure souls. They are achieving this through their spa.
